A random radio station's schedule

Heart

On Saturday 3rd May 2014, Heart Radio Station have 7 shows during their day. These shows all centre around the muscial element, highlighting that the majority of Heart's audience listen to the show for the music. During the day, the different shows, and the different types of music played by each of its presenters, vary depending on the time of day. In the morning at 6am, JK and Lucy present a show that is aimed to 'get your weekend off to a bang to great music and lots of laughs'. This differs to the shows on for the rest of the day, as it is the only show that seems to be focused on its 'breakfast show' element, which includes lots of talking, and getting your day off to a good start. This is specifically planned by the stations producers because they know important that time slot is; it is perhaps the most listened to time of a radio stations day, and so it's best show needs to be on at its most listened time.

In the evening, especially as it is a Saturday, the music style takes a very sharp change. At 7pm, Mark Wright presents his show 'Club Classics with Mark Wright' which is Mark Wright playing Club Classics. This differs to the shows earlier in the day, with all of them having a 'music variety'. Mark Wright, and Steve Denyer who follows him, play music designed to get people ready for their night ahead. This is specifically planned by the stations producers because they know that, on a Saturday, people are likely to be going out and having a good time. Therefore, they know that, in order to get an audience at that time of the night, they are going to have to play the music that the audience want to hear, and club classics are exactly that.
